Shrimp - 07/16/16 10:40 PM

1/8, 1/0 Owner head for bobber fishing in the bayou. I tied it up just like I would a Crappie jig using opal pink Estaz but used 3 X the hackle (grey and pink) and added some antennae and legs.
I don't do much bobber fishing but wanted something I could use running from fresh to salt with the light tackle.

Thanks guys. I have some time on my hands to experiment a bit. I want to use my 1/16 - 1/4 rod all over.

I tried something a little different this time. 1/8, 3/0 Owner long shank. I added some plastic eyes that I painted black, used a larger size estaz, used saddle and grizzly hackle and added some mirror wrap in front of the hackle. I could probably trim it down a bit but I am getting closer to what I want.

Over the years Shrimp color has been good Fall transition into fall. Take notice as the leaves turn red pink bronze and rust hues. Insects will turn those colors also so lakes or areas of the lake wind blown maybe a big of some sort a slab won't pass it by. On another note o am from close to brackish to salt water crustaceans when stressed out turn these colors so fish on.

I modified a stand up - swim jig with a 4/0 that weighs approximately 1/12 oz. I like the profile of this better and I figured out tying in the legs.
I am ready for the Fall transition Sac-lait-Pat!

You guys like the shrimp, here are some tied by a friend of mine, he is a Pro Tier and is part of the Whiting Pro Team. He also is the guy that does the Rope Dub style fly tying and I plan on starting to do a lot more of that since I have put it on the back burner for about 5 years now and finally think I have time to really take it on.

Those are some beautiful work whaler. It has been several years since I have done any tying. Here is a shrimp that I did back then. I was showing it to Redgun the other day, that is the only reason I even remembered it. They are fun but time consuming.
