Finnish Raccoon Fur

I got a little of this Finnish Raccoon Fur earlier this year, but have just looked at it since, lol! It's really different and has a few long straight Hairs, but most looks like long underfur. Anyway I wanted to tie something to see what to think about it. So here is a 1/32 Oz Roadrunner to take advantage of the Blue and White color combo!

That sure is a nice looking jig you tied skip! I didn't know there were raccoons in Finland. I tied this jig using west texas elderly raccoon it was so old its fur was gray lol

make do with whats available. both nice ties

Racoon dogs in Finland. The raccoon dog is an alien species in the Finnish fauna. Originating from eastern Asia, it was introduced to the former Soviet Union between 1929 and 1955 as a fur animal and the first animals had been spotted in Finland in the 1930s.

Here are a couple Victoria, TX road kill opossum fur jigs that a buddy of mine tied a while back. They tend to get "matted" up though. But, they do catch fish.

Well I also have a real Possum jig too, but this stuff is noting like a possum, lol!

Here is a couple possum jigs I tied 8 years ago. I do know a little about American Possum hair and even a little about Australian Possum hair which is very different!
