Jig Head hooks - 01/29/19 02:55 PM

I'm having a problem with most of the hooks I bought .
I noticed on a lot of them the eye is not completely closed?
These are the Eagle Claw Sickle Jig Hooks Platinum Black 500BP #4.
Awesome hook and very sharp! but the eye not being closed is a pain.
who do you guys use? or is this something that is common?

Not good at all! About the only thing you can do is hope the paint sealed it closed. I have had a few like that years ago and I tried to close them a little, but once several broke I quit doing that.

If they don't do anything soon, I would call Eagle Claw and show them what their crud looks like!

Those don't look like the Lil Nasty hooks to me... at least not like any I have. Point of hook should be curled in, like the beak on a bird. Bend of hook should be forged and look flat. Can't tell for sure from picture, but don't look forged to me.

Just got more in, think I will take a closer look at them.

I had some like that from eagle claw, but they were just regular jig hooks, bronze, size 8 & 10 and everytime I'd hook a fish and the fish flailed the loop of line would pull through that little gap and I'd loose the fish...I just bent them closed with needle nose pliers and they quit doing that. Just got a batch of Matzuo sickle hooks and 2 sizes of the Lil' nasties in...I'll have to check them out.

They are Eagle Claw but it did not say LiL nasty on the eagle claw bag they came in. Platinum Black 500BP #4 is what was on the bag.

They should be... That is the PN I order for the Lil' Nasty hooks. If you are in a bind, I have extra... or if you want a few to compare, just PM me.

Update: On my order it says 500BP, and that it how it is listed by supplier. However,, box says 500BPM and LIL NASTY. wondering if the 'M' has to do with quantity or packaging.
