350 for 25 minutes is what I usually do, but I stay far, far away from chrome (can't seem to get good coverage. The jigs I sent you were silver paint from TJ's. I honestly can't see the difference in it and chrome. How did those heads hold up?

Some Mfg's even say 400 degrees for 20 min to get the best out of a Chrome Powder paint. I use between 390 and 400 degrees for 17 minuted and I give it the last 2 minutes to reach temp in my little toaster oven and if it was preheated then it would be 15 Min.

Oh one group that has a special undercoat of Chrome and Black and then a candy color over. They insist on 20 minutes at 400 degrees and they said the base needs that cured at 400 before the candy coat is put on. So you end you curing that kind two time, lol!

The CSI temps they have given out for many years now, most say 392 for 15 minutes and that is lead surface temps. The give other options like a lower temp for more minutes, but they also tell you extended time will make the color darker! Is why I use the 15 minute plan on every color except Pearl White and that is a special case and gets 325 for 20 minutes. I have got their list from them several time over the last 12 years or so and have spoke to them on the phone many time about all this.

Okay edit time to add in a picture of the Illusion painting I have done. This is the kind you have to cure the base coat and then Candy coat and cure again!

Skip that's a gorgeous looking paint job and sound like quite a bit of time goes into getting them done.... very nice....

Thanks for the info especially on the pearl white as I just got some of it in also and didn't think it would be different....

Thanks guys! SK it's really only difference is you have to cure it two time, lol! So if you plan ahead a little it's not too bad, but will say the 400 degrees for 20 minutes makes a difference. The thing they told me when I called is the high temps and extended time makes the under coat better and more shine and I think the ones I did after calling them and are better than the ones before I called.

I have not done any of these in a long time so I guess for me it was a waste of $ unless I go back and do more which I may as well since I have all this darn paint. Also by that I don't mean just some of their paint as all my Candy colors will work with this. They think very high of their paints at the Illusion place and all Candy Powder Paint will work. Thankfully for me since I have pounds and pounds of Candy powder paint. SO much in fact that I bought a bunch of 2 OZ bottles to sell some in, but I have not got my act together yet, lol! Bet I have over 50 pounds of Powder Paint, lol!
