Guide Report Lewisville Oct 21st - 10/22/17 12:38 PM

Had Trey and his buddy out Saturday morning on Lewisville chasing some blue cats. The strong winds turned them on and they ended up with a nice cooler of 20 solid fish up to 27". They did have some big fish take downs as well but they just didn't stay hooked up for some reason. One big fish found something to wrap up in as well. The bigger fish are starting to get hungry as the water temps drop. I had a last minute reschedule and Sunday opened up. The north wind bite has been good for bigger fish. The cooler temps we are seeing are already starting to get them biting more. The 60's should get the numbers of fish caught moving up and the 50's will get the biggest fish feeding more. December thru February should be some good fishing this year.

I was afraid of that. My old 71 year old bones really suffer on a 1 hour boat ride in 30 degree morning temps just to get from the dock to where I fish.
Cormorant birds are back so I'm hoping the bite kicks in sooner this year.

You need to find some closer spots to fish and a more comfy boat. I never have more than a few minute boat ride and the boat rides like a Cadillac if the wind is less than 25.
