LED Lights came off?

Had my 17' lights on for several weeks on both sides of my boat. I went out to my boat this evening to flip on my green exterior lights and bask in the green glow and they didn't come on. Then looked down at them and it was gone... all 17'... went to the other side and same thing? I'm guessing them came off the last time I was fishing during the day. Weird they both came off at the same time.

Does anyone have any recommendations on lights with really good adhesive or a trick to sealing them on etc?

How did you attach them? Use automotive weatherstrip/emblem adhesive goo. Mine been on 3 years......

I used 3m 4200 or 5200 I don't remember for sure. A dot of it every 4 inches or so works well.

How did they get disconnected from the power source?

I used 3m weatherstrip adhesive (black) to put mine on 4yrs ago, still stuck like chuck.

Im pretty sure they came off driving because where I spliced them together was inside the hull... both had the splice peace pulled outside the hole that penetrated the hull. I'll def try the alcohol prep next time. I didn't clean before I installed them..

Don't rely on the sticky backing, use some sort of adhesive.

The red backing 3M tape that you can get at any automotive store works really well. It is used to hold body molding on cars, and with proper prep, it will be damn near impossible to get off, unless you forcefully rip it off

Hey oakpointaggie I have an extra roll of the red 3m adhesive just sittin here, you're welcomed to it also have the acetone to clean the area.

Serj I really appreciate the offer. I ordered a roll that comes with 5M tape backing and I ordered some adhesive as well. The lights I ordered where 5050 LED's as opposed to the 3825's. Apparently the 5050 is a little brighter. I'll try to post a pic when I get them installed.

.. Good deal Sir. I have the 5050's also.. pretty bright also I bought a controller so I could work them from the phone..incase me and the Mrs. or the fish wanna dance..lol!!

E6000 High Viscosity glue is working great. Put it down the top and bottom front to back and it's rock solid. I would recommend buying the application tips sold separately for about 4.50 on amazon.
