Sadly we lost a goodun!!

Hate to say it but we lost Larry Akers Sunday. He lost a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was a great fishing partner and a better Friend!!
May our prayers help his family through this trying time!!
I am sure he has already found a Fishin hole and looking for that Biggun!!!

I never got to meet him in person but I always heard good things about em and liked him when he posted here. I know I would miss my fishing partners and friends big time if they weren't around. I remember one time when he got on here and said something like this " heard me a rumor of a 90 lber being caught round here the other day.... I'm goin fishin " !!!!! I was like YEAH!!!!!! Got me all wound up. Sorry Tom Pardner. Prayer sent.

I never met anyone that loved to fish more than Larry. Sure gonna miss him, he was a great guy and always fun to fish and joke around with on the water.

We had some good times fishing against you guys back in the NTTC days. He always had a smile on his face. Just a great person. Hard working smart as all get out too. I know he in a better place now. I'm sure you will be there for his family Tom. Please pass on our condolences.

Really sad to hear that, Larry always had a big smile & seemed to love life, fishing, family, & never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed, but I'm sure he's in a better place & free from pain. God bless his family & help them through this difficult time

My heart hurts. I saw him in Sept at the boat ramp and he look so full of life and that awesome smile. We talked and laughed for about 45 min. He was always upbeat even when he talked about his battle w/ cancer.

Rest well my friend and we will share stories down the road.

One of the nicest guys I ever met. I really enjoyed the few times we fished together. You will be missed. RIP Larry.

We lost a great man. Heaven gained an angel!

Not only was Larry a great angler but he was an awesome varmint hunter. Always positive and humble. I bet he's giving them the sore mouth right now up in heaven.

I know in my early days on the Forum, I always looked to read & see what you & Larry had come back with on your many fishing trips (together or separately).

Heck of a great guy and angler. One of the most dedicated fishermen I've known .
