We had a really good outing with Mr. Brown. We met him at the boat ramp at 0800 and returned shortly after 1600. Saw a few alligators, one of which was coming fairly close checking us out. We didn't count our fish but together, the three of us had to catch well over 100 fish. I was really amazed at how well his punch bait worked. The problem is that after catching that many fish, we only had 18 keepers. Many of the fish came in just shy of the 12 inch limit. I was a little concerned when we first arrived. He did not have the nicest boat or the best equipment but, he made up for it in the numbers of fish that we caught and was very sharing with his experience. We really learned a lot from Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown cleaned and bagged our catch and allowed me to purchase a quart of his punch bait before we left. A great trip and we would like to do it again. Jerry
Glad ya'll had a great time!
Choke has been known for those small cats the last couple of summers, but they are growing.
You can always tell a real catfish guide by looking at their boat! If it looks like it's been drug behind a truck through brush for several years, and is so dirty a respectable fly wouldn't sit on it, then you've found a real catfish guide! Not one of those posers that call themselves a guide, with all that fancy equipment and sponsor wrapped boats.
