cut shad comercially available?

can you buy cut shad at the store/bait shop? would love to tie into a big cat so I need some shad.

If you did find it Matt it most likely is going to be frozen and although you CAN catch fish on frozen, fresh works better for most of us than frozen.
1st choice --learn a cast net and get fresh shad.
2nd --have some fun and catch some perch, fresh perch is very good bait.
3rd--Go to an ethnic store and get a buffalo or drum, many a fish has been caught on this.
Key word I think is FRESH whatever gives you a better chance.
But the numbers don't lie, the reason you see much about cut shad is the fresh cut shad gives you a good chance of getting to the blues.

I catch some big cats, mostly blue cats but... some channels and even flatties on raw chicken breast this time of year.
Dont laugh, if you cant get fresh shad, give it a try!

Caught a 38# on cut frozen carp Monday (carp chunks)

thanks everybody! yes i need to learn how to use my throw net. I have one, just need more practice! didnt think about picking up some fish at a market, prob expensive but worth it if I can pull in a big cat!

Matt, It would be cheaper than the cost of every thing involved, gas, net, ect. Do you know any bowfisherman? John
