Not sure where to post this, but Dick's has all their clearance fishing stuff @ an additional 50% off.

Also had Berkley line @ buy 1 get 1 free.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods - 08/11/13 04:26 AM

Yea, I started to suggest calling first. I picked up a F&S Ravenna 20 for $11 and 2 spools of Berkley Fireline for $15. This was in Rockwall.

After what they did after the Sandy Hook shooting, I wouldn't shop there if stuff was marked 99% off.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods - 08/11/13 06:33 PM

Here's another tidbit.

Berkley is running a $15 rebate when you purchase 2 spools of certain lines.

Berkley Promotions

Looks like my buy 1 get 1 free Fireline for $15 qualifies for the $15 rebate. smile

FN, not sure what they did after Sandy Hook, but I'm sure it was probably something stupid... loco

No kidding. I wouldn't take their stuff if they gave it away. Big sales like this are just to get people back in their stores, after their customers abandoned them for being idiots.

Yep. I've crossed several businesses off my list.

So what's this about? I really don't shop there but like to know....

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods - 08/12/13 01:11 AM

For people asking, I don't know if it went any further than this, but they stopped selling a number of rifles and in the store near the shooting they stopped all gun sales and removed all of them from display.

They're apparently opening up a new store called Field & Stream that will sell the rifles that their Dick's branded stores stopped selling, so there's a good possibility they're hurting for business and trying to lure people back by opening up new stores under a different brand.

They pulled all of the AR's off the shelf in the wake of that monster walking into Sandy Hook and doing what he did. The spit in the face of gun owners across the nation and they will NEVER see a penny of my money.

I had no idea. I firmly believe in spending and / or boycotting as a show of personal conviction!

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods - 08/12/13 02:06 AM

“We are extremely saddened by the unspeakable tragedy that occurred last week in Newtown,” the Pittsburgh-based company said in a statement.
“Out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning we have removed all guns from sale and from display in our store nearest to Newtown"

.let me start with Im a gun owner and always carry a pistol ready to fire.. but I have to disagree with you about dicks..they were being respectful IMO..not trying to stir the pot.and dont get it wrong Im right there with ted nugent on gun control..

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods - 08/12/13 05:03 PM

Dick's pulled AR's off all shelves and stopped selling them after Sandy Hook. They had a contract with Troy Manufacturing to sell their AR's and cancelled it. The customers that had put down deposits were given store credit, no refunds.

Academy just removed theirs from display, but continued to sell them. Due to customer complaints, they started putting them back on display. Dick's continued to be pushed around by the gun banners.
