Nolan River August 1, 2013 - 08/02/13 06:51 AM

I decided to wet a hook while waiting for my wife to get off work. It was a deep pocket in the Nolan River. Caught two good size eaters. With our drought over the past few years, I never gripe about catching even just a couple fish in a deep pocket. Several deep pockets are fished out because of no flow in the river.

As bad as they look in the photo, they were fighters. They fought like catfish 18 inches long. I put them on ice when I left. Maybe that made a difference. Plus the fact that they were in a narrow river. River cats don't get fat as fast as lake cats.
