I've never used one. Found a 50+ floating today still attached to the jug. What a HUGE waste. Ya'll make sure you check them often (every couple hours) in this warm summer water. thumb

Basically are those just capped pvc with a noodle aroudn em?

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 09:23 PM

Yea. You out a 5" piece of rebar in them. When you get a bite, the rebar slides inside, puts weight one one end, and it stands them up.

It's came a long way from when I used to run em when i was 17 on the river. Back then it was a milk jug, trot line rope, couple hooks, and a brick lol

Where can I buy the WHITE noodle at? I would like to make a few of these. How many hooks do you rig on each jug?

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 10:42 PM

the foam i found it at a contractors supply place in Dallas down off IRVING BLVD. Give me a minute and i'll look for the info.

I only use one leader per noodle and they're set at different depths.

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 11:29 PM

How do you guys wright your info on the jugs? How do you tag it?

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 11:35 PM

i have this roll of thick white tape like duct tape, but i put a piece big enough to write my info with a sharpie so it doesn't erase and i use an erasable marker for writing the date. that way i can just rub it right off....

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 11:44 PM

I was thinking about a wax pen, that should work as far as I know.

Re: Jug lines - 08/30/12 11:47 PM

Re: Jug lines - 08/31/12 01:20 AM

I bought my noodles from http://www.fishingnoodle.com/WHITE-FOAM_c3.htm. Only problem is they have a 3/4" id. So I had to make washers out of some thick plastic laying around to go between the cap and noodle.

Re: Jug lines - 08/31/12 01:29 AM

at this place where i get it at it's solid. so u can make the hole the size you need it to be.

Re: Jug lines - 09/01/12 10:24 PM

I write my name and address on the tube and the date on the cap with a sharpie. Wipe date off using acetone. Saw in the new regs where your date is only good for 10 days instead of 30, so watch out.
