I am new to the area, and to lake fishing. I wanna learn to bag some big catfish, and I heard Lake Tawakoni was for me. Anyone got any tips?

welcome Dan! you have been mis-informed sir. your best bet for trophy cats in this area is Joe Pool Lake and Benbrook!

Take a guided trip. If you are new to lake fishing you will learn more in one trip than you could figure out on your own in a year.

Dan, i was joking .....sorry. You are right on track with Tawakoni. Lavon, Texoma, lewisville to name a few more hold large numbers of quality fish. The guide as mentioned before will be the best money you will ever spend as far as the amount of knowledge you will gain! Good luck!
