Lake Somerville 7/22

Lake Somerville 7/22 - 07/23/11 03:53 PM

Somerville continues to drop as they let water out. By Sunday morning it will officially be 6 foot low, but for those of us who know the lake daily, it might be closer to 7 foot low. Very dangerous spots on the lake where it is normally 5-6 foot of water and now there is lake bottom sticking out of the water in the middle of the lake. Be very careful if you get on the lake.

Friday I had Kent Dale of College Station and his brother Alan from Oklahoma City out on Somerville for a trip. The water level is dictating daily where a person can find fish and where you find the fish changes with temperatures and wind as well as the water level. We found fish in 3 foot water and 10 foot water, but we also found places with no fish.

They ended the day with 42 keepers for a Friday night family fish fry.

All fish caught on CJ's monster bait (bet you guys are glad Cabellas is now going to carry the CJ's), we were using tight lines.

Nice Catch as always. It is super dry just about everywhere. We need a lot of rain now. It is going to have to take a major Hurricane to help out the Lakes,Creeks,Ponds, and Rivers. flag
