I use chicken livers, but was wondering if anybody uses chicken hearts?Last week at Conroe it seemed like the cats were sucking the livers off and hearts would stay on longer. Thanks

Where are you buying hearts? We used to eat them all the time and I have been trying to find some to cook but cant!

I like them fried too, but I've had some pretty decent luck catching blues and channel cat with them.

They work mix a little sticky dip bait in the heart chamber with them, but cut shad is better!

Brookshire used to sell 25lb. bags or special orders

I don't know if you have ever tried this, speedracer, but a man showed me a trick one time to helping the livers stay on the hook better. Find you a spool of sewing string and put a good few wraps around the meat after you have put it on the hook. It has helped us.

I know a oldtimer who uses chicken hearts on his trotlines in Lake Livingston. He catches more than he can give away. No kidding

I use to use hearts when I was a kid in the 60's and caught a lot of cats. I did not know you could still buy them. We also use to dice them up and catch buckets full of bluegill.
Brings back lots of memories!

Caught a few on hearts 4 or 5 years ago, stick with Danny King's now. Nothin else works better for me.
