Weekend was full of suprises and friends.
Friday fished with Tom & Chuck Dewey fishing shallow for a couple of hours with out much luck other than couple of channel cats. Moved out to some deeper water and got on the fish. Micheal Ryno and his wife were celeberating her b-day all weekend and gave us a call and we fished together. Good friends and good fishin' is hard to beat! Had nice limit of 50 blues to round out the day and head back to the lodge to fry some fish, rounding out a beautful day in S.Tx.
Saturday
Blaus,Sam,Danny, and Gene of Burnet,Tx fished with me. Got to fish for about 2 hrs and had 30 fish in the boat before my 20.5 ft CC couldn't handle the swells any longer, got dangerous real quick was taking waves over the bow consistently. Rode the tidal waves in to the dock and sat it out for four hours till Micheal came to the rescue....Mike (god bless his soul) offered to let me take his Cat toon out to finish out my trip while he went and got cleaned up. Went back out and whacked 100 blues in no time flat, with thanks to Mike. Good friends are hard to find and owe ya alot bud. Thank you ten fold!
The fellas had a hell of of time reeling in fish!
Mike with "stumpy". the shortest fattest little cat I'd ever seen. Pics don't do him justice, but he was about 13-14 inches long and probally almost 2 pds...funny as all get out.
Sunday- Repeat Guest Teo Maldanado, Son Ryan and buddy Rick from Kingsville,tx. Weather and wind were perfect, fishing was better. Fished two spots and whacked 75 blues by 1130 am. Had a heck of a time keeping up with Ryan reeling in fish everytime I turned around.. Great day on the water.
Most of the fish came on Big Marvs punchbait, then shad and cut bait on Team Catfish Double Action Circle hooks 5/0.
Again, thanks to Michael for helping out saturday, couldn't have made it happen with out ya and thanks for hospitality and good eats!Really enjoyed it.
