Locating Plankton in TX Lakes

I have a question. Is there a defined way to locate where the plankton is located in TX lakes other than just checking wind blown shorelines? I know plankton is normally blown around by the wind and the bait fish follow that, but is there a better way to check that visually?

Just checking. Look forward to feedback from the experts.

Only time I see plankton on my graph is when I fish at night and it rises up off the bottom. Looks like prop wash except is everywhere and a lot of guys think something is wrong with their electronics.
