The wife's new killer rig - 08/30/22 04:02 PM

My wife read on social media this past weekend that more fish has been caught on this barbie fishing rig. So me being the guy I am, who best than her best friend for life and most competitive person in our fishing adventures to get her one lol...

Now she already has one 20 some odd year old piece of [censored] rig she just cherishes and I am going to get her on some stripers or some really nice blues and have her lock her drag down so that it's combat fishing. That should blow that apart lol. Now she loved the Barbie rig gag gift and told me right fast to make a special place on the boat for it also cause it was going to out fish all my 600 dollar sticks I have a lot of,⁰ lol.

I am waiting for the moment, but it won't be before I get my parts to fix my tilt & trim unit and the hydraulic steering cylinder. Those things just gave up as we started getting the rain lol. Have a look at this rig of hers here . It's on top of my 105 Yeti that is a beast to pickup by yourself, it's for size reference and the tape measure has it at about 31" long, is

It's all plastic also. It's going to be a blasting with a 10 pound any fish lol. I have no doubt then she will use the nice new rig I have her and still out fish me, then make sure I know all to painfully about that. Just thought you guys would have a good laugh about this as I do, I also cherish her going with me when weather permits, she is a fair weather person for sure...

That setup is legit!!

Bought my daughter one 17 years ago when she was 3. She still uses it as she likes to perch fish. I restrung with 4lb test line this year. That Barbie pole out catches any other pole 5:1 no matter if they are rigged the same or not.

I need to tie up some of my jigs. When I was much younger growing up on the Alabama Gulf Coast we fished for Spec’s with a common jig that used White or Yellow nylon thread. I used to give my sisters Barbies haircuts and make my own homemade jigs that would slay the Specs.

Perfect companion for your rigs.

Son of a friend got a Snoopy rig when he was 3 or 4. He is now 15 and can still tear fish up with that thing.

Really not a bad size rig if you want to get up in the brushy creeks for the Spring sandy run.

We will need pics of her first fish!

I like the cut of your jib, Sir. Hopefully your wife will too.

Ultra lite, like the sound of your jigs sir, I like fishing with them, the wife's big thing is she likes to crappie fish, and I am not going to deny her that if see goes with me lol. When I crappie fish the yellow has been the go to for a while now. The white later in the year usually.

Now the deal with her going fishing with me, is she expects Mel to get her about 5 or 6 dozen minnows as she wants nothing to do with the jigs or anything else artifical. The only thing I use live bait on is the catfish least usually. Just not very often I use live bait on more than the cats...

But yes my wife will out fish me on the crappie, I can live with that, we usually have first fish, most fish and biggest. This way I have a chance. Yes I do have digital scales on my boat to lol...
