Rain Rain Come and Stay

Rain Rain Come and Stay - 08/17/22 11:23 AM

Well, for the first time in a long time, the 7 day forecast has some pretty good rain chances in it for the Metroplex. I assume many of you are looking forward to some rain as much as I am. Lavon is 4.31 feet below full pool as of 5:00 am this morning. It shows on the north end of the lake. As the chart shows, the level is lower than it has been the last couple years.

For me, watching the new water coming into the lake is going to be a key focus if we do get some rain. I will be in skinny water looking for ol big feeding on some fresh water bait. After that, back to the mid depths close to those creeks and inlets dumping nutrient rich water into the lake attracting bait. We are still a ways out from a fall pattern but this rain next week could give us a taste of one.

Good luck, tight lines and God Bless Y'all...

Good Idea. I think I might too!

I have washed my truck several times trying to make it rain, even took the boat out, just knew getting my detailed to the 9's and spit shinned boat out and on the lake for a night fish, with 20% chance of rain would have done the trick.

Heck I was actually expecting a bad storm, and I was good with that. The Lake I really like to fish is a few inches from being 10' low, which considering how hot and dry its been is not bad, but I think we need them all full and running over.
Besides it makes the fish happy too!

Certainly disappointing so far. Hopefully, we'll get some much-needed rain.

I hope the system that is going over us in Longview right now heads over LOP's water shed. We have received over 2" in the last hour. Raining very hard, already have runoff hitting the ditches. We didn't get any rain for about 2 months and have had almost 5" in the last week and a half. Woop, Woop.

I am at Tawakoni for this week and yesterday afternoon and all last night it has been raining hard. Looking forward to fishing those creeks this morning!

Dang,
I have seen where some of you in and around the D/FW have gotten some rain here the last few days, which I don't have to ask if it's needed or not lol... Just hope no one drowns or get hurt, but glad some part of Texas is getting rain.

Tawakoni had over 6 INCHES of rain and the lake is rising fairly rapidly. This morning I caught a ton of shad in my net by the boat ramp and also some bass that were chasing them (put them back).

Hoping the bite is on today, we shall see…..
