Tennessee River - 5/9/21 - 05/10/21 04:58 PM

If you will remember last week, we brought home a cooler of skipjack to freeze. Now no more making the run Guntersville Dam for bait. So Saturday we turned right out of Ditto Landing to parts of the river I have never fished before. I had scouted my Navionics app to look for deep holes and found two promising places, both close to 70' deep. Spot #1 had a catfish guide with clients, so we bid them good luck and headed to spot #2. The base of a cliff, with a nice deep hole beside it. The second fish in the boat was a new boat record of 44lbs.

We had plenty of dinks the rest of the day to keep us entertained. We scouted more places and discovered blown trees along the river ledge was the ticket for fast and furious action. Lots of "eaters" and this one 15 lb blue that Dennis reeled in. We still can't decide who has the bigger belly, Dennis or the blue.
