Blues & Channels on RC! (Updated 10/18/2020) - 10/11/20 01:42 PM

I've been fortunate to fish almost everyday on Richland Chambers for the past several weeks. The "Eater Size" Cats have been on a good bite and it just keeps getting better as the water cools and we move into Fall. We're catching all our fish up the Richland Arm in the Timber in water depths ranging from 15'-25'FOW. All on Danny Kings Blood Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook. The action in the early AM almost always come from fish feeding on the or near the bottom, but as the morning progresses the Cats move anywhere from 2' to 10' higher in the water column. The Commorants have just now arrived at RC and you will have your best luck fishing the heavier timber that they are roosting in. They are way up near the Railroad Tracks at this time, but will eventually move to the Crab Creek area as we move from Fall to Winter. No one has joined me lately as RC is vacant at this time. Sure nice to have a 45,000 acre Pond all to yourself! thumb Adam and I have a few October Weekdays available a this time and LOTS of November Weekdays, a couple of Saturdays and some Thanksgiving Holiday Week openings. Give us a call and Let's Go Catchin'! We can handle just about any size group and check us out at www.gonefishin.biz for our "Fishing Trip and Cabin Special". Here's some Pics from the past week or two:

The strong North Winds associated with a couple of Cool Fronts got us Monday and Friday of this past Week and we had to cut one trip real short and cancelled the other one. A word of caution and that is that RC is not a Lake to mess with when you have North Winds in the 15-20 MPH Plus Range. They turn the 45,000 acre Pond into what looks like the Gulf of Mexico! We were able to get out on all the other days and had good fishing every trip. The Catfish have moved farther up the Richland Creek and are in thick timber where the Cormorants are currently roosting. The "Eater" Channel Cats are there by the thousands and you catch an occasional larger Blue. Fish are in the 14'-18' FOW and are aggressively biting in the early AM. After about 10 AM the bite slows and you have to move around to try and relocate them. All fish are being caught on DK's Blood Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook. Adam and I have openings in November and will be fishing during the Thanksgiving Week Holiday Period. (We have one October date open and it's this week on Wednesday, October 21st) Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz and give us a call at 903-389-4117. Let's Go Catchin'! banana
