Locating Catfish

Locating Catfish - 04/29/20 04:06 PM

I have previously made a post about fishing grapevine for catfish, but I am struggling big time to find some fish. 4 outings and ive managed one big channel and thats it. Ive fished shallow flats next to deep water, deeper creek channels, points, and some flooded brush, and I still haven't seem to find them good. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Ive tried live shad, cut shad, worms, you name it.

dfw, my advice is to toss out a little sour grain or range cubes In these same spots and see how it goes. Give it an hour or so to start working. Good luck!

I think any new cat fisherman should start shallow. Shallow timber always seems to hold some fish, regardless of time of year.

DFW,

I looked back 9 pages & did not find a post from you (back to 1-28-20). I can't help you to where on the lake, but I can suggest to try my Catfish Calendar. Currently it is on p.3 of listings here in the Catfish Forum. BC is BlueCat & YC is Yellow Cat. I have had fairly good luch with the ChannelCats on the BFT days.

Good Luck!

Garlic shrimp in flooded timber has been working for me on Lewisville.
