catfish bait does NOT need to stink to work. just look at stubbys or smell it and it works very good.
i got a recipe from this site sometime back that smell like candy. and it's some of the best i have used.

You are correct sir ! We catch more fish on Stubby’s than any of the other stinky stuff. No stinky stuff used for years.

We doubled up on these within a few minutes of our first drop yesterday with Stubby’s.

Thanks man! We pretty much only target the channels because of the faster pace in catching. Keeps those kiddos attention on guide trips. The tall guy in the pic is a friend of ours, I’m the short guy on the right

I am not Stubbys or Littlewheels brother but I would not mind that. I do buy loads of the cheese bait and like the fact that it does not stink

Is there any place in the DFW area that I can pick up some Stubbys?

I never understood the prepared bait craze with catfish, I frequently target them with live minnows when they’re in the shallows. They don’t eat stink bait in the lake, they eat Shad, bluegill, minnows, bugs, and worms.

@Mckinneycrappiecatcher, that's how it is in my river. They want real meat. In fact I catch more channel catfish while bluegill fishing than any cheese bait. I cut up the bluegill and use that for blue catfish.

I agree; that's not to say stink baits don't work or anything but I feel like there are easier/less messy/less stinky baits to use like cut bait or even hotdogs. I do a lot of carp fishing and have caught channels, blues and bullheads as by-catches all on scented plastic corn too. The only stink bait I messed with once was CJs Punch Bait which smelled awful, was inconsistent staying on the treble hook, was very messy... and caught me nothing on the few trips I used it. Again, I'm sure it works fine, but for me it's a lot more convenient to use bluegills or hotdogs.

Give Stubby a call at 817-366-5492. He can mail it to you or tell you the closest store. Mailing it only takes two days.

They definitely eat their natural resources. However, several thousand catfish are caught each year by Stubby and myself on Cheesebait It’s pretty easy and a lot less messy to just go grab a tub of Stubby’s cheese bait and go catch a couple limits of catfish. There is no right or wrong bait to use. We just use what is easier and less messy.

I can't explain it but why do the cats chase after Range cubes, sour grain sweet feed none of these are in the water daily for them to eat ?

Randy, we use #4 treble hooks , 20lb braid and no weight. Unless we are slip corking, we fish straight down.
