I am using Danny Kings, Got 4 cans for $1 each , Walmart clearance, so I have a lot to use up.
The few times I have used it, fished on the bottom with no results. I am usually using liver most of the time.

I fish Stubby's about a quarter turn off the bottom. Just enough to keep from snagging downed timber in Fork. That's where the chum is, why not fish there?

Welcome Mark! Yes you can fish it on bottom. I would suggest using as lite of a lead as possible to get to bottom and stay there.

Re: Punce bait question - 02/04/20 04:46 AM
it depends how deep the water is. I mostly us a local made cheese bait and fish it under a slip cork up to 15ft of water, any deeper I just fish it straight down just off the bottom. One thing I always chum.

I always fish punchbait on the bottom and I have great success sometimes because I believe if the fish are actively feeding it really doesnt matter whether you fish on bottom or top and if the fish aren't biting they won't bite either way

Can be fished fish punch bait on the bottom, and under a bobber.
One thing about the bottom fishing is not getting stuck so pull that line off the bottom about a foot or so.
Give Benny's sure shot a chance, do is good as well.

Ok almost free bait can be tempting but I believe in Stubbys so much that I will tell you it is better to use Stubbys cheese bait than any other bait that I know about. I have even made my own bells of hell stink bait and Stubbys is still the best by far. So now I just buy Stubbys and catch my fish.

Need to try Stubby's. Danny King sure is hard to get off the hooks when done fishing.

Ok you guys don’t buy all of Stubbys cheese bait at lake fork marina. I need to get stubby to start putting more big jars of bait in the store.
