"Eaters" Still Eating on RC! (UPDATED 1/27/19) - 01/13/19 08:20 PM

Eater Size (1-5 lbs.) Blues and Channels are still biting pretty good on Richland Chambers! The rain from a couple of weeks ago had the Creeks Flooded, the Lake about 1 1/2 ' above Pool and as many as 24 of 24 Spillway Gates open for a few days. As of today, the Lake is back down to just a few inches above Pool Level, Water Clarity is stained up the Creeks & Clear on the Main Lake, Water Temp is at 51 degrees, and 4 Spillway Gates open. The Catfish moved off the Timber way up the Richland Arm where we had them cornered for about a month when the Lake rose and the water was flowing. We are now fishing the Crab Creek area in timber in water depths of 7'-15' for most of our fish. All being caught on Danny Kings Punch Bait on a #4 Treble Hook.

We have Weekdays openings in January & February and a Saturday, February 23rd if anyone wants to take advantage of our WINTER SPECIAL RATE where 3 Fishermen fish for the 2 Person Rate. This runs thru February. All equipment & bait provided and fish cleaned and bagged. Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz and give us a call @ 469-371-5197.

Here's a few Pics from the last couple of weeks:

This apparently was not the week to fish as my Monday/Tuesday Customers cancelled due to the cold weather and a cold that one of the folks had. I did fish yesterday, but at start time around Noon the NW Wind was blowing around 15 MPH and the Lake was rolling good! We decided to trust the Weatherman & went ahead & made a rough boat ride up the Richland Creek Arm. The weather forecast was correct & the Wind slowed gradually over the next couple of hours & by 4PM we were fishing on a slick lake. The bite was a bit slower than usual but the fish we caught were better than average with two Blues just under the slot and twenty four more nice Eaters in the 1-5 lb. range. As usual all fish caught on DK's Blood Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook fished in the timber. We caught more of our fish deep (30'-35') than normal with the best action coming in 35' FOW right off the Creek Channel. The week is over for us as our Saturday trips are cancelled for good reason...Temps in the 20's and a howling North Wind at 30 MPH! nuts

Here's a few Pics from yesterday:

Not much big fish news to report this week as I managed to fish Thursday & Friday and then we had both boats out on Saturday. While we enjoyed the mild and calm days on the Lake for a change, the fish just didn't cooperate like they do on a more breezy and cloudy day. We had a slick lake all three days with a high barometer and bluebird skys most of the time. bang We did manage a box of Eaters each outing but the fish were smaller than normal, the bite verrrrry slow and you really had to be ready when you did get a hit. We caught a few fish as shallow as 10' but most came from water in the 20'-30' range. All on DK's Blood Punch Bait and still fishing in the timber on the Richland Creek Arm of the Lake. The water is still stained a bit and four Spillways Gates are open. Water temps ranged from 47 to 50 degrees all three days. I think the fishing will get back to normal with a little more normal weather and the Lake back down to Pool Level. We have Weekday openings over the next few weeks. Give us a call and We'll Go Fishin'!
