When fishing for catfish in extreamly clear water with 20# braid, should a leader be used.

I do not think cats are line shy. Maybe in some situations as they are not blind or poor sighted like a some folk think. I just use the same I would use in muddy water.

Thanks. Considering that they bite trotlines, jug lines, and so forth, I wouldn’t think they are line shy, but I just didn’t know about them in real clear water. Thanks for the reply. Good to know what others think.

Yellows are very cautious. But sometimes they throw caution to the wind & inhale with all their might.
Not sure about clear water but I catch them on weedeater string all the time so I don’t think they care....
