Give me a quick opinion.

Think the catfishing will be decent at the old dam on Lewisville tomorrow night? I've only fished there once several years ago. Not sure if it's good this time of year.

There are cats around the cut year round. Blues are coming off there beds so you might get lucky and get a biggin around the rocks when the sun goes down. Are you fishing from shore or boat?

Oh yeah, should have mentioned that. I'll be banking it.

So you think fishing the cut would be best? Think there will be some shad around to catch in the cast net?

Looks like it's about a half mile walk to get to that cut, that will suck. But I do have one of those collapsible wagons that helps with hauling gear. I've never walked all the way out to the cut. Is the path fairly smooth for the wagon?

Also, how is the ground out there for rod holders? I've got homemade rebar rod holders and a hammer. Don't want to lug the hammer out there if the ground is soft enough.

It�s the best bank fishing spot on Lewisville by a long shot...there are Shad there year round. It�s a long walk but you�ll catch some fish there most likely. You should be able to pull a wagon

It�s rip rap at the north cut which is closer to deep water...the south cut has a sandy beach on part of it

Anywhere to set up chairs or should I plan on sitting on the rocks? Don't want to carry chairs out there if we cant sit in them.

I was planning on the North cut.

Looks like the south cut would require parking at Westlake park and it closes at 10pm. So it'll have to be the north cut.

North cut is better...it�s about the only place on the lake you can reach 30ft of water from shore. You can pull your wagon but not sure about seating or rod holder placement. I fish it from boat a lot and there is bait and tons of fish there all year long.

Look at your topo before you go...there are always fish at that cut but they will often relate to different features of that area. One day they might be in the deep holes out in the middle of cut and another they may be on the deep flat to the west. Next day they could be on the east ledge or on the shallow point or the shallow hump. There is always current there even with no wind and there is such a huge variety of structure there. I need to do some night fishin! This sun has fried my brain this week. If you see a big CC with UV lights and a bunch of fishing rods lit up like light sabres listening to country tunes while chunkin a cast net, Hollar at me and I will scan the area for ya

Lol. Well, all this for nothin. Gonna have to postpone going to the old dam. My gf doesn't want to walk that far nor sit on rocks so we're gonna go to my sss by my moms place. I'm definitely gonna hit up this old dam sometime soon though.
