That's a good catch, hope the pole and the holder weren't too expensive but I've had it happen also.

Nice fish!
Sounds like a good reason to pick up some really nice replacement gear.

So a fish pulled the whole rod holder into the water?
a few week ago I caught my daughters little pony pole in mid air...15 ish pound carp was fun on that thing. got lucky, would have been the first pole I'd lost

I wish it was a fish...had settled into a spot and my wife up front with 4 lines out and me in the back with 5 lines out...boat was anchored sort of and the wind had other ideas...my wife said I lost a pole while I was trying to get my 5 lines in...as the front of boat had done a 180..i had gotten all my lines in including to blues and looked to the front and saw the rod holder broke at base and gone...think a tree won the braid fishing line challenge...not the first rod n reel lost in my lifetime...maybe someone will catch it ..

Nice fish. Good job. Broken/loosing tackle is all part of fishing! Hate the expense but as stated it's part of fishing.
