2nd Annual Night-time Brazos River Flathead Tournament

Dudes, yall gotta put this one on your calendar!!!!!! Micheal Houston and his Wife Cindy runs it and they did an Awesome Job last year!!!! It was one of the coolest tournaments I’ve ever fished to date!!!! Nothin like being on the water at night with great folk out there chasing Monster Flatheads!!!!

Thanks buddy, I was going to try to post this weekend, these dang blue kitttys are keeping me busy. Come on out guys. There were quite a few flatties caught last year... there will be a live bait vendor at the meeting. Also there is about $1300 in cash and prizes added by sponsors, including a great prize for kids big fish.

Went to the Brazos Saturday night targeting Flatties for a bit. I'm proud to say I would have at least been on the board at weight in! Not by much, but at least not a goose-egg!

Ill be there probably wont way in any flatties bc I'm terrible at catching them! Ive so far never caught a single one lol But mike and Cindy have been great friends of mine for the past 15 years and he thought me how to catch those blues! I fished it last year and will continue as long as it goes on even sponsored a little bit this year!! Looking forward to yall kicking my butt!!!

Ok Pardners!!!!! If you have Facebook account you can look up the page “ Brazos River Flathead Tournament “ thats where the main advertising and info for the tourney is held. The only three things that I see that I think is really missing on the flyer is a wee bit more info on the exact location for people that aren’t really sure, where the weigh in actually is and where and how yall can get ya some bait because there is gonna be good live wild perch sold there for the people that need it from what I understand. Perch usually sale for around 10.00 a dozen or so but just bring ya a nice little wad of cash in case it’s a wee bit more or so. Lol! But, for the most part, It’s a Brazos River / Nolan River tournament at Lake Whitney. There are basically three boundaries that are stated up above that you have to stay in while fishing. The bait will be sold at the captains meeting held at Roughnecks that everybody fishing the tournament must attend and register. Thats the only registration time and place for the tourney. Oh and the weigh in is at Chisholm Trail Park. Thats where we all show up wonderin around like Zombies, talkin smack and all the goodies are given away....

It was an interesting night. We had a heck of a storm roll through. Reports were.. a lot of action right before, and right after the front hit, then it just Died! It was a good turnout though with good folks, and several teams caught good numbers of smaller flatheads. Here's out 1st,2nd,3rd,place, and kids winners.
