Hey

Is it possible to get into the king creek from the lake in a bass boat. Tried yesterday but kept running out of water.

Looking at this week's forecast for Cedar Creek, and knowing Kings Creek very well, I would suggest you get a good anchor and fish the mouth where it dumps into the lake. Generally speaking, throwing fresh shad out at the mouth will get you all the eating size blue cats you could ever want.

Too answer your question though, yes, you can get a boat in there. I've driven my 24ft center console well into Kings on several occasions. The lake just needs to come up a foot or two.

The only way you are going to get into Kings Creek from the lake at the present time is walk in. The water is very shallow probably 6" or less with lots of logs for decoration. I run a tunnel W/jackplate that will run on plane in 8" and I haven't been able to get in for months, nor would I attempt it on a bet right now. Bassboat no frigging way.

Just wait till after this rain. You will have no problem getting in there.

How about Lacy Creek under HW175? Is it to low for a boat? Only if you have a flat bottom tiller and don't mind laying down.

Just wait till after this rain. You will have no problem getting in there. Depends on how much rain and where it falls at. The lake needs to come up 2+' to be on the safe side, or that is my experience over the past 25+ years.

I've seen you go up Lacey Creek in the same boat I'm thinking. Question is though can the water be too high to go under that obstruction thingy with a big center console?

If the lake is full, and I want to fish up Lacey, I launch my aluminum center console north of 175 off the highway. If I'm targeting catfish, I'm anchoring at the mouth of Kings or Lacey and throwing fresh shad in current breaks.

When the lake is full, my big fiberglass center console will NOT fit under 175, nor am I brave enough to try. Kings on the other hand, I've taken my big boat in there on several occasions.

Laner I just have an old 18ft Fibo G Ranger 361V with a 150merc behind it. Where would you suggest I put in to get into Lacy?

Fishbonz, this is just me, but I personally wouldn't take a fiberglass boat up Lacy.

A lot of stumps in Lacy this year just under the surface plus areas which would be hard to get a boat thru with all the lay down in the water
