I believe this is a regular thing. I bought 4 lbs a couple weeks ago and they were fresh and caught fish. The best way to catch Carey is phone call.
Tell him Dean and Austin said Hi!

I will have fresh gizzards until the weather warms up, everyday. After that I won’t keep any on hand unless you let me know couple days out and I will get you super fresh for the summertime days.

Right now they are averaging 7 to 9 inches. You get 6 to 8 per pound.

Re: Fresh Gizzard Shad Available (Plano,TX) - 01/20/18 02:16 PM

I wonder if you can salt those down heavily and freeze them to preserve them longer? I know they do this with minnows way up north in Canada. They are called salty minnows and when put back into the water they re-hydrate and look fresh and fish eat em up especially walleye and pike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd_oUFzGmS4
I do something similar with bluegill and salt and it preserves the color for a month or so and blues seem to not care they are dead. Salted perch

Fresh Gizzard Shad 7-11 inches.

$7.00 lb

Plano Texas 75074 for pick up.

My whole body was covered in scales today. Every net was 50-100 lbs of thread fin and maybe 5-20 gizzards. It was a mess. Luke made it down and was about to throw his net, I said “ have fun with it” lol. He threw his net and pulled in a huge net full of threads. I have scales everywhere on my body even after scrubbing off in the shower. Looks like I got back from a strip club, with all the sparkles on me.

**** I will be at Cabela’s in Allen on Saturday the 22nd at 3 PM conducting a FREE seminar on “Electronics “. I will cover side imaging, dow Imaging, and 2D. I have over 150 slides for my slide show on multiple DFW Metroplex Lakes. Pictures will have all sorts of different species of fish, structure, and other images so the next time we go out to the lake you will have a better understanding of what you’re looking at on your fish finder. ***

Tip: net throwers:

Last night I made a contraption. I took a tarp folded it in half. I tied a half a brick to the left and the right side of the tarp at the bottom. At the top i used two spikes to spike it into the ground and threw the bricks off the ledge connected to the tarp. The bricks pulled the tarp tight against the bank leading into the water. So I would throw the net. then pull it up the slick tarp like a slide. No ripping your net on the roots and when you hit 200+ lbs of shad, you don’t rip the [censored] out of the net trying to pull it over the bank. It worked perfect! Wish I thought about it a long time ago.

No way could I haul that batch up and over the bank. Without the tarp, I would have ripped the net to shreds on the roots, that are covered by the tarp. They slide right over the tarp no issue. Even a 200 lb catch, can be dragged over the bank using “Tarp-onfly Tarp”. For fresh shad- Call or text 469-528-0210 for pick up in downtown Plano

Tarp-onfly Net Saver : Now on Sale for just $39.99

- 1 net saving tarp w/ 2 half brick weights
- 1 Tarp
- 2 high quality stainless steel stakes to keep it secure to the ground.

Picked up some TarponFly Shad for my trip yesterday. With my brother driving 3 hours to fish with me I didn’t want to risk having to look for bait. Sure was nice to just jump in the boat and start fishing!

We caught this 41lber on Hubbard!
