How Would you Tackle this lake?

So, white river reservoir has been a mystery lake for me for years and haven't wuite figured out how to fish it. Most structures are extremely sharp drop offs into the lake almost immediately from the bank, and water stays muddy most of the year. So with these screen shots, what are some expert opinions on what places look "fishy"

The island is surrounded by tons of timber anywhere from about 15 FOW and under. North of the island is pretty barren as far as structure goes, it mainly just slopes up to the bank.

South of the island it's pretty much all 30-40 FOW and the only depth changes are close to the bank.

No clue about the lake specifically - but on an unknown lake i usually start with

Then look at wind forcasts/maps

What is prevailing wind (that and depth/structure/time of year) will typically drive where the bait is. Find where/what the bait are hanging around and you'll find fish.

Usually where i fish is heavily determined by where i can launch as well - since i do mostly kayak fishing.

never having been their myself... i'd probably start in the creek beds (or as close to them as i can launch) and work my way out onto the main lake.

Makes sense to me, it sucks that the navionics app isn't exactly accurate on this lake, and only has 10ft depth contours. Im in the same boat as you when it comes to what I fish out of too, which is usually a kayak

i would start fishing those points that the wind has been blowing towards fish

It will depend on when you go. Forecast this week will be big wind Friday and Saturday then calm Sunday. With the lake 20' low I would fish any timbered areas that are 15-20 feet deep and then move shallower. If fishing during the wind the above advice is solid.

I'm going Sunday on my home lake and with calm wind I may have to fish anchored up over active fish. This past Sunday less than 22 fow nada, deeper than 23 fow nada. Had to fish straight down caught zero drifting.

Looking at the Navionics WebApp, if you toggle the sonar chart layer in the bottom left corner, there actually is some decent contours on White River, granted some areas are missing, but others have really good 1' contours...maybe something to check out. Like stated above, I would look at some of those points with irregularities on either side where the wind has been hitting, should be bait there.

Good advice, I'll be checking this out shortly!

Also, I plan on being out this next Monday. I'll probably be fishing points on the west side of the lake, or that northern bank and around the island depending on wind

Any new lake, 1st thing I do is look for shad. If you can find them you can find fish usually. I will spend hours looking for them.
