Lake Fork Anglers 5 Fish Limit first tournament for 2020 on Dec 12th - 12/13/19 01:15 AM

In order to get the most tournaments possible in a year we now start the next year in December. Today, which was 34 at the start, turned out pretty good. A lot of mostly small fish were caught. But when you have cold fingers any type of bites helps the angler forget his fingers and concentrate on the fish.

Todays fish were mainly caught in 5-6 feet on drop shops, T-rigs, C-rigs, and rattle traps.

This is a 5 fish limit, all fish count over 10" including slots since all fish are measured, recorded and released on the spot.

Boaters Results

First place went to Dennis Bubinas of Lake Fork with 6 bass for 11.36 with a 3.02 lunker caught on a Yum dinger.
Second place went to Robert Gaylor of Lake Fork with 4 bass for 9.44 and the Boater lunker of 3.09 on a red eye shad.
Third place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs 13 bass for 7.27 with a 2.31 lunker on a black worm.
Fourth place went to Jack White of Farmers Branch 8 bass for 4.92 with a 1.10 lunker caught on a black worm.
Fifth place went to Charlie Abresch of Hawkins 6 bass for 4.77 with a 1.37 lunker.

Co-Anglers Results

First place went o Gary Paris of Quitman with 9 bass for 7.52 with a 1.87 lunker caught on a speed craw.
Second place went to Tom Whitrock of Lake Fork with 6 bass for 5.80 with a 1.49 lunker caught on a drop shot finesse worm
Third place went to George Mc Cane of Dallas with 3 bass for 3.75 with a 1.45 lunker caught of a Yum dinger.
Fourth place went to John Shinn of Van with 2 bass for 3.70 including the co-angler lunker of 2.49 caught on a drop shot.
Fifth place went to Butch Grove of Sulphur Springs with 2 bass for 3.57 with a 2.35 lunker ( A ticket fish)

And what is a ticket fish at Lake Fork? It is an exactly 16" bass on your check it stik which by the time you get it to the Sealy tournament has relaxed and now is 16 1/16th and instead of winning a boat you get a ticket from the game warden and get DQ'd for the day.

There were 87 keeper bass caught today even with 5 skunks.
