Not a bad place to fish but this year we should make it a Lake Clark / Lake Bardwell combo.

Re: RHBC 2018 Schedule! - 12/12/17 02:16 AM

O.H. Ivie is a really neat lake."better have gps" I'd be down for that. Not sure about lodging but wouldn't mind fishing that lake again.

Because we spend enough damn time on Hubbard during the year. The Championship is a time to get away from home and spend the entire weekend hanging out and having fun. Let's go somewhere a little different this year! Richland Chambers! Whitney! LOP!

Pines'll work... If I fish both clubs next year, that'll be another two trips out there. It usually fishes excellent in the fall! Then again, Caddo is just a little further!!!

LOP is a good lake but little to no quality lodging..

Re: RHBC 2018 Schedule! - 12/14/17 04:20 AM

I recall a couple of pretty good "establishments" near where we stayed last time at LOP. Richland Chambers was a good lake that didn't fish particularly well. We could go West of the Metromess if Texas goes ahead with changing the slot back to normal regs at Granbury. There's PK, Whitney and even Belton in play as well.

Love the suggestions! If you really want to go to a particular lake for the Championship, do a bit of research and find places to stay and places to eat and remember, the last two years we have had over 30 boats at the Championship so we need some space. We'll talk about it and decide in February or March. First meeting is January 11th. Everyone have a great Christmas and New Years and then it's time to turn our thoughts back to fishing!

I used to have a yearly trip down to Whitney for a Czech Lodge fast pitch softball team I played for. We used to stay in the cabins at the top of the cliff at this resort. Had it's own boat ramp and slips in a creek channel. Really great place to have this get together back then. I know it has cabins to accommodate about 50 people but I have not been there in quite a few years. We used to go in November each year and fishing was usually pretty good. Of course my parents had a place down there near Uncle Gus Resort while I was growing up so I really liked the lake since we fished it so much.

Re: RHBC 2018 Schedule! - 12/20/17 04:19 PM

Looked around on the net for a little while yesterday and there are a few cabin type places on Lake Whitney. Lots of them have "family" type cabins. Not a whole lot of 2 beds/2 people type, but we can see. Lots of places to stay in Hillsboro which is only 15 miles away if needed. I like places I've never been for the Championship. Evens the playing field for everyone.

Joey, will you personally write notes to everyone's boss about why they are gone from Thursday - Tuesday for a 2 day tournament? If the fishing is good, maybe Wednesday... roflmao
