"Day On The Water"....Jerry....2/28/10.....Results - 03/01/10 01:15 PM
Well going into this me and "Fish AKA Wanda" knew it was going to be tough no matter what Lake I took him to. Well, I figured why not take him to a Lake he has never seen, and is a cold water Lake in the cold...
So on Sunday morning I had Jerry meet me in Rockwall where we set out to Lake Quitman. A 814 acre lake that's just SE of Lake Fork.
Jerry had enevr seen the lake before and had NO idea what was in store for him, well with out anymore delay here's "Fish AKA Wanda's" "Day On the Water".
This is Jerry talking about see'ing the lake for the first time.
Before I get into his day, I want to show you what the water looked like around the lake...This Was The Clearest Water We Found"...
Jerry leaves the ramp and heads up the lake about 1/2-3/4 of a mile and stops at a little pocket trying to feel the lake out.
The shallow bite wasn't happening and the Muddy Muddy water was already playing into his thought procces, he turns the boat around notices something moving on top of the water and moves out a little.
This video I get some close ups of how he warks the spinner bait and he also talks about how fishing has changed from his yunger years.
He now heads to the back of a creek trying to find clear water.
He didn't even make a cast in the creek, and moves out to the mouth...
I'll be honest at this point Jerry is really giving it his all, but the water is so cold and muddy, and he's so out of his element, he starts going to look for any clear water or to see what locals might be doing...
This is a cool video of Jerry showing us a trick on jig trailers
This video he shows us how he flips weeds and grass, and why. He gives some pretty good info in this video..
Well, after about 10ish I think, I decided to move Jerry to Fork to let him atleast have some water he felt good about. We fished for till about 2:30 with the same results as Quitman, with no bites.
I have to say these might have been the toughest conditions I put a angler in for day on the water. He was really blown away by the 38 degree Muddy Muddy water. Jerry I can't beleive how you stayed that positive and never did give up. Even though you struggled....Very Very Very Very Bad...LOL
We still learned a few things, and that's what it's all about..
