100% Fluoro or Co-Polymer Leader?

When using braid, which leader material do you prefer and why?

I've tried #8 and #10 stren and suffix 100% fluoro for my spinning reels, and haven't been impressed with either. The cheaper stren was much better.

I almost picked up some co-polymer by accident, and now I'm wondering if I should give it a try.

I used to use Seaguar fluoro ---- they didn't have all the stuff they had now so I think it was Invisix or it's predecessor. I have also used Yo Zuri Hybrid and just Big Game. More recently I have used the Trilene 100% Fluoro Professional stuff but just bought a 25 yard spool of Seaguar Blue Label leader.

refraction index, abrasion resistance and knot strength are what should be important but I don't know how the stuff I have used has done in any of those categories. I do not break off much and not sure if I am missing bites due to line shyness.

I really think fluoro is the way to go with a really good knot for joinder. I think more for abrasion resistance than anything but you cannot sacrifice knot slippage or breakage (from damage while tying) in order to get the abrasion protection.

I use McCoys Mean Green on everything, EXCEPT my C-rig rod. Then I use it as leader material. It is VERY abrasion resistant, stretchy so you can lean on a fish a little bit, VERY LOW MEMORY and STRONG!!!!!!!!! I can tow the boat around with 2 BIG guys in it with 20# test. I use 10# on my shakey head rod and 12# on my drop shot rig. I often throw a double rig, drop shot and shakey head and I use 12 or 15# then. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

They are both good. I use a copoly on anything that moves. I will use flouro on anything that requires more feel.

I ended up finding some P-Line CXX on clearance at Academy. $5 for a 600yd spool.

So far, I like it much better than the flouro I've tried. This stuff is easier to tie, more abrasion resistant, and more manageable. I fish in stained to muddy water, so flouro's invisibility doesn't matter to me.
