Smokey Joe version 1

Smokey Joe version 1 - 06/28/16 02:30 AM

Had a customer asking for this pattern it's not exactly where I want it to be yet, but it's a cool looking bait anyway. I like my colors just need to add more glitter. It's white base, pearl platinum over whole body, iridescent blue back, shaded with pearl black, iridescent neon green glitter on back and hologram glitter on sides and belly.

Re: Smokey Joe version 1 - 07/08/16 04:32 PM

hey Brad can you post a pic of the glitter or the brand and size you used on this bait?
and also where did you get it at? did you spray it or apply it in a epoxy clear coat?
some of the glitter I have used in my clear coat leave small bumps on the bait.
I am a new to painting baits and just getting started.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

The glitter on this bait is in the epoxy top coat it's the easiest way to do glitter, the glitter is just ultra fine glitter from hobby lobby other sure of the brand.

Yes the Devon 30 min epoxy
The glitter I bought from
Hobby lobby was extra fine
Not ultra fine
Just got back from there
And found the ultra fine
And clear coated one of my top
Water baits and looks good so far
Will post pics soon as I figure out
How too
Thanks again

My version of a bagley chartreuse
Belly baby bass

Re: Smokey Joe version 1 - 07/10/16 02:26 AM

Nothing wrong with those I like using an artist sponge for the bass pattern there are some videos online doing it this way. Lure me in has a real good baby bass video. The baits look good though man, I really like the chartreuse with blue back and splatter effect you posted really interesting bait.

Thanks
Bigbass94
It's a lot harder to do than
It looks..... there are 7 colors on
That bait and clear coat
But it's kind of a cool deal when you can paint something that you want that you can't buy in a store

Never seen that color combination called Smokey Joe - to me Smokey Joe is more grey on off white. Amazing work regardless of what you call it.
