Paddle tail packaging

I just got into soft plastic pouring and after some trail and error I am getting really happy with my results so far. My issue has been with what to do with them after I take them out of the mold. If I store them in old keitech packages everything is fine, but I only have so many of those saved. How are you guys storing them? I feel like my tails kink up much easier than production baits. I am loving the action they get though, you can feel them thumping hard on a slow retrieve.

When I pour baits I take them straight from the mold to cool bucket of water for about 30 minutes, then lay them out on cookie sheet or something for at least 3 days. If you put them in the package right from the mold they are still really soft and will gradually harden up, if they are bent they will stay that same bend. When you get ready to bag I get a big gallon ziplock bag dump all your baits in it, then squirt some worm oil and if u want scent add that too, shake them up good. The oil on them makes it easier for them to slide in bags. Then u can take them out and store in smaller bags u want to keep them in. Hope this helps

Do you ever dip the mold in water to get them cooled off faster after a pour? I have not tried it yet, but it crossed my mind to speed things up instead of waiting 5minutes between the pour and opening.

Here is some of my first attempts along with my first self pour catch:

put your molds in front of a box fan they will cool pretty quick. You can buy packing boxes on line.

Don't put your molds in water to cool them. Your mold need to be completely dry. Water and melted plastic is not good.

Swimbait storage is no different than for other designs whether plastic boxes or bags. But whichever are used, soft plastics must be stored straight or memory deformation occurs even after cooling in a water bath. I use zip lock bags and boxes with and without partitions and depending on lure size, make sure the lures are stored horizontal to the floor.
