I did go there but was only there for 15 mins to check the place out. do you know how long of a walk it is to an area with sand bass or a hole?
Don't know how far down the trail you might have to go to find enough water. The last time I was there was when the lake had normal water level. It's just a different approach from trying to go up river from the lake in a boat or by foot.
If you try to go up river from the lake there's an old low water crossing that crosses the old river bed and blocks boat access with low lake levels.
The latest Google Earth satellite images are dated early Oct 2014 and show some pools of water not far downstream from Tejas Park. The Oct 2014 images also show a lot of almost dry river between those pools and the lake headwaters. However the lake level is also higher now than when the satellite images were taken.
So there might be enough water for the whites to swim upstream - doesn't take much. Just have get out there and check it out
