Ben Brook Mud Hole

Ben Brook Mud Hole - 02/15/15 04:47 PM

I know I am no great fisherman, like Randy, Mike, Kerry,Cris, PK, Seth, and Dan. I am sure there are many more I have not mentioned on here. But I have been fishing for over 35 years and about 10 on BB. Took next door neighbor 5 teens out yesterday. Had big minnows, stink bait, and shrimp. Marked lots of fish and never put one in the boat. That is 4 times in row. I didn't try crappie, but I met a guy while I was launching and he didn't catch a fish either. I fished the Richardson humps and tree line,, fished the channel and main lake humps, dam WP I have marked, Mustang humps, and still no fish. I am going to be like Kerry, I will put my boat on that mud hole when I need to check out repairs and not carry a rod and real with me. There has to be a lake around Aledo that has enough water in it to launch, besides BB.

well I hear bb is a decent crappie lake. I had the kayak out there the past 2 days and marked fish but no bites(hybrid, white what looking for}there are a couple guides on that lake so it could just be the time of year,IDK but the lake is at my backdoor so I will keep trying. I hear that they are going to start letting water in soon

February Crappie fishing is for Guru's and a few lucky dogs who happen to be in the right place at the right time. Try it again mid April and note the difference.

That's the truth. I had several dozen minnows yesterday that had no chance of dying and I plan to fatten them up for the prime time.

Luke57: Mustang ramp is the only one open. If the water level drops another 6" you will need to be careful not to back off of the ramp. DP&W keeps up with the water levels on all the lakes. It is on their web site. I know there are bad days and good days, but I can usually catch a fish somewhere in 4 bad trips. Besides seeing all of those post from PK and Texoma, what can you say. I am sure I'll be back out there in late March or April. Let you know how it goes.

I hear you Sumfish. I've been stocking shiners in several lakes myself.
