In preparation for an upcoming largemouth tournament on Lewisville, I decided to take the boat out yesterday evening to try my favorite spots. My girlfriend knew that I was going out and asks to come along, which against my better judgement, I decided to let her come along.

As I had feared, the birds were REALLY active. My girlfriend asks if we could fish for some white bass, which I obliged. I tied on a Little George to one of my reels and she commenced to casting. One white bass led to five, five eventually became ten, you get the picture. Throw in a couple of times untangling backlash in her reel and her wanting to fish the next group of birds going crazy over the water, I knew that my time was running out for fishing for the ugly, green monsters.

The sun did its best to stay up on the horizon for me, but alas, it was gone. My girlfriend said that she had a good time and asked when I would be going out again.

I told her that I would be going out on Thursday.... BY MYSELF. LOL!

But yesterday was an incredible day out on Lewisville for white bass.

If you don't mind me asking, what part of the lake were you on? I was out with a couple buddies and we ended up at the 121 cut near sunset. We never saw many birds working. Maybe just here and there, but never in a group.
We did manage a few sandies and a drum, but nothing major. We saw some hybrids being pulled in by some trollers and a couple of other boats, but no hybrid luck for us.

We were at the Stewarts Creek ramp. The birds circled for an easy hour and people off the bank were catching them like crazy. One guy managed a couple of hybrids from the bank as well. Looks like you were close by.

Ha! That's where we put in. Guess we should've headed back in earlier. We stayed at the 121 cut until after it was dark.

Oh well. Glad someone was having fun and catching a lot of them.

Nice! How come I am never as lucky in terms of running into working birds? If I were you, I would bring her along more often. You don't need a kitchen pass when she is your already your fishing partner. I guess it is a different story as an unmarried man.
