RC - Where is Pelican Island?

I have a map of RC and can not find the Pelican Island Area. I put in at Oak Cove Marina. Which way do you go from there? NW away from the 287 bridge or do you go under the bridge to get there. I do see an island on the map but it just says island with no name. I know the names of most of the other spots on the lake so you may be able to help me by telling me what it is close to. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go under the bridge. Follow the left shore. There is a mobil home park looking area called Pelican Point resort (I think). Some maps only show a point, but it is in fact an island.

The big island you see to the north on your map is Hickey Island.

There is also some good fishing up there. Look for the oil derrick on the south west side. In between there and Hickey Island is some good fishing, but watch out for the tree tops and stumps!

There's a radio, or cell phone, tower near the launch. You'll see.

The map I have doesn't show the island either. Its an island just south of the 287 bridge on the eastern bank, you can't miss it.
