Strange looking sandbass

Son caught it in a local pond - just seemed strange that it was so green.

Maybe it is just me or the camera.

It's a white bass for sure. A little skinny from the spawn (he is warn-out) but yea - it a white bass,

Don't fish get much darker when they are spawning?

But yes, weird that it has such a green body...

It looks like a gaspergoo to me.

weird. never seen one that green before. seen em almost albino white but never like that

The ones in Cabela's aquarium are almost black.

Local pond? Is there lots of moss?

That's a hybrid not a sand bass

Yea release all those that look like that - a very shinny white bass (he has been working hard - to hard). Plus he is stunted - he will never reach full maturity. And if you catch a skinny fish - they are not very good to eat - at all (they are sick to begin with).

If you released it - I hope he makes it (and recovered).

It does look lie it has a couple of lines going all the way to the tail.

I did not know they stock hybrids at ponds, just a skinny ol sandie. I caugh plenty at Grapevine that looks like that.

It is beyond any point of discussion, a white bass. I have caught many like that over the years. the type of water it comes from determines what shades of grey/white/green will stand out. i have caught A LOT of sandies/whites over the years that look like that one.
