this was actual pigment no discolor at all on the inside...

too bad it wasent the shape of mickey mouse I could have cashed in!

seen it more on LM...was told they're "protein spots" but who knows...

It is melanistic pigmentation....seen quite often in LMB.

My guess is that it got a bacterial infection when someone caught it, handled it, and the protective slime the fish has on the skin got removed by the handling. Not that uncommon.

I think Slim is correct. You ought to send that picture to TPWD and see if they have seen that before in White Bass (trying to turn into a Black Bass, You're a bad white bass, bad!).

Freaks of Nature (I would like to see the next generation out of him/her).

Those markings are actually a good sign. That will tell you the fish are healthy.
