Six Old Geezers - 04/20/07 01:54 PM

Greetings from your friends at 6OG.
Once again 6OG is starting a fundraiser to support the Texas/Oklahoma fisheries departments and the Corp.

Last year, with help and support from many of you at TFF, the efforts bought:
A new computer for Ron to replace the old thumper he was limping along to maintain the 6OG website.
Two 24-foot custom spec'd Blue Wave Magnum research boats -- 1 for TX & 1 for OK, and a 225 Yamaha 4x for the Texas boat,
A GPS/sounder for Texas Warden Dale Moses
A new armored binocular for Oklahoma Warden Jay Harvey.
All of this equipment is hard at work on the lake we love.
That's $17,217 we contributed that with the 3-for-1 Federal match on most of it turned into --- drum roll please -- $65,868 in equipment!!!

For 2007 our first project ia a Memorial Day Garage/yard sale -- more a guy sale -- at Texoma Tackle in Kingston OK. For that we are looking for donations of good stuff hanging around your garages and storage sheds.
Fishing/hunting/camping/boating gear
Cull your tackle boxes for a few hardbaits/spinner baits/ etc that you never use
tools/yard and garden stuff/outdoor furniture
tires/automotive
good toys
etc.

We would be happy to make arrangements to pick up and transport donations.

The guys handling the sale, and for you to contact are:
Jim Hough, 580-931-0741, kjhough@hotmail.com
John Sneed, 580-920-9108, bepaw@sbcglobal.net
Sterling Smith, 405-262-0181, flyint911@sbcglobal.net

More news later on guide trip and bait tank raffles.

Thanks for your help.

CT, the fundraising efforts last year were amazing. I am sure that this year will be another good year as well. I will get some items out to you guys for the garage sell efforts again this year. As well as help out for door prizes, etc at the fry.

I know that the geezers have a good bunch of guys that are active in this effort. But these efforts help out all of us that take advantage of fishing one of the best striper fisheries around. Just wish that lake wasn't 3 1/2 hour pull from my house. I would be there a lot more often. Thanks CT.

I'd love to come to the garage sale but I'll be in Missouri that weekend. I can't wait for the fish-fry in October.

Thanks guys. We are running a convoy Sunday at 1pm from our Texas storage shed to the one we are using this year in Kingston.
So if you have stuff to donate, let us know for pick up or you can drop it off. Whatever, we will make it work.

And watch this thread for an announcement on our guided trip raffles. I won't spill the beans, but the guides are major and you know them well.

Thanks again.

I'm happy to haul stuff from FW/D, the Tarrant County side, if anyone has something to send up...I'm there about every weekend, and would gladly make arrangements to pick up stuff during the week.

Folks,

The Garage Sale is just the beginning...

Watch for the opening soon of the guide raffles that will be coming up! There will be a notice posted by David Thompson, who's handling them for the Geezer Guys this year.

We've got four Texoma Trips on the block this year, and a special treat for you that can't seem to get so far from home:

HYBRIDS on Lewisville with none other than Trent Barnes hisself!!

As before, there will be one trip opening up a month, with the drawing taking place the last day of that month. First come, first served...

And remember, there are only 250 entries available for each one.
