PK fishing is still hot (except for LM Bass) - 05/01/22 07:36 PM
Caught another cooler full of Crappie this week and a couple nice stripers that could not leave my little shiners alone. It was a good thing, as blackened striper breaks up the monotony of fried crappie. Would have laid all the fish out and took a pic but the wind was terrible this week. The waves coming back to the ramp were scary.
This Hybrid is longer than last weeks. This one is 25 inches. I think these hybrids out pull the stripers. They are a hoot on the crappie pole.
All these stripers seem to be about 27 inches.
I ended the afternoon with a cooler full of fish. Two stripers, 23 crappie, six big perch and a nice cat.
I think there was a Bass tournament this week at PK. Lots of fiberglass bass boats beating the bank. I don't know for sure but think fishing was tough for them. There's a couple monster LM Bass on beds by the swim beach at the cliffs. Hard to get them biting when they are spawning. All the crappie were still full of eggs so they have not spawned yet. Water temp was 66 degrees, something has spawned, as I saw huge fogs of some fry on the fish finder.
