Why in the world are places to stay so expensive in that area? My son is playing baseball in the area next week. Considered taking the boat to stay and fish afterwards.
But sheez, 2 nights for baseball, 2 nights for fishing, I'll be close to a $1,000! And that's just on a room that I'll hardly be in.

Where's the affordable boat friendly close to the lake places? I tried to find that place with the small cabins we used back in the TSA days but I guess they're no longer in business.

I live on Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir in an unincorporated piece of Bell County. Lake Belton is 25-35 minutes away, depending on which ramp you use.

I do not offer fishing trips on the weekends so as to avoid the crowds and crowding, so I don't need to get my own boat in/out of my garage/driveway on Fri - Sun.

I'd be glad to let you leave your boat in my driveway during your stay. As for lodging, I always send my clients to the Holiday Inn Express in Salado or the LaQuinta in Belton. In 17 years of guiding, I've never had anyone have a bad experience at either one. Best bet is to give me a call or text at 254.368.7411.
