They in full spawning. Not hard to find them. Look for splashing along the banks. Males are chasing females to do their thing. Preferably banks with fallen trees and limb. They chase and splashes all around those fallen tree and limbs. Not sure why they do that but that's what I observed all day today.Slow slow slow rowing tendum rig 1/8oz curly tails. Best tactic is to ditch the boat fish from banks. Cast toward the deep channel and work it very very slow toward the bank. 99.9% of the time they will follow bait and will only hit it pretty much right next to bank within spitting distance. Water is still cold so slow retreive is key.
5 person limit. We launch at River Ridge. Boat ramp been dug out clean and launchable. We eat here at Zach's across the river to Logan Sport boat ramp and stayed at the Executive Inn two beds for $65 bucks. Clean room comfortable bed. Food at Big Zach's is awesomely goood!

Peoples if you launching from River Ridge and using the pay slip to pay for boat ramp fee. Please drop money and white copy into mail box slot at front door and put yellow copy on dash. Bunch of people put money in the drawer that the envelope is sitting on. I saw a bunch of money in the drawer with the money pay slip and all. Someone could of taken your money and your pay slip.

Are there places to fish from the bank at River Ridge? Would be an hour drive for me. Would it be worth it for me to drive an hour to fish for the day?

I see people with no boat fish along the shore line at the boat ramp outlined red. With condition like this weekend fish were pretty much everywhere along the river up or down from River Ridge. Me and another boat my friend seen this year like no other years that we've been there is them whites are actively splashing the surface water everywhere along the river system. The white bass migration up the the Sabine river this year is massive. You cannot go there and not catch a white bass unless you are presenting your bait wrong. With this weekend weather in the 80's water is still cold. We had to retrieve our bait super super slow. If you think you've already going slow, go slower. You will only feel a light tap like a crappie bite. Set the hook or you won't get any hook ups. When fish refuse to bite tipping a small fresh piece of crawfish meat on your plastics baits intice them to bite. I wouldn't recommend throwing crank baits because crank baits require a faster retrieve and those whites will not bite it. Small 2" curly tail grubs tendum rigged help it to sink faster. Just drag your curly super slow and feel that light tap set that hook. Hope that helped. Good luck. Hope the cold front doesn't shut down the bite completely. Btw we left them biting today. Our thumb is completely grinded off like sand paper and it hurts cause by removing so many fish. It's a banner year like no other years past.

Condition isn't all that great like this past weekend but you never know. With gas prices being so high right now. Winning some money to cover your trip would be nice!! 🤔😁
I already did the pre tournament scouting. Those white bass are there in that river in huge numbers. Weather may mess everything up for tournament.

Looking at River Ridge guide service pictures of catches with dates on them and just the sheer amount of fish and activities in the river right now I would say yes. I think the spawning process has already started where the males is chasing the females to release eggs and sperm. I have always fish in Late February and cannot tell you for sure but just going on the many years of pictures on River Ridge Guide service website where it shows to go well into the third week of March, I say you got two more weeks. Water temps in the river was 57 degrees yesterday. This week with the cold front it'll be much colder. I don't know effects that will have on the bite. I say best bet is to go on a Sunny day. That sun will help most definitely. A depth finder is a must. They are usually found at every deep holes in the river. When you turn a bend See's a deep hole then get shallow again, that's the location you want to fish. They are down in them deep holes and will come out of those holes to the shallow bank for your baits. Cast deep let it sink to the bottom then retrieve very very very slow towards the bank. That's how I've been catching them for years.

Words of cautions. If rain was in the forecast at Sabine River days ahead of your trip I would call River Ridge a day ahead of going and ask the condition of the launch areas and if it's possible you might get stuck in the muddy roads leading in and out of boat ramp areas. With rain those areas can get you stuck without a 4x4 vehicle. Other options that I know of with an excellent boat ramp launch and park is Yellow Dog Park they got a concrete boat ramp and Logan's sports boat ramp.

Thank you for the info, it’s been years since I’ve fished it. The last time I fished when it was this low it was game on for sure. I need to keep documentation on all this because I can never remember when we went and caught a bunch. It’s been at least 5 years since I’ve been out there. I used to go every year prior to that. Would normally launch between Carthage and deadwood at the 2517 bridge.
