Took a quick trip to River Ridge yesterday for bank fishing. My fish log showed we had caught a few whites there this week last year. No fish but a nice afternoon and the guides report some catches up from the launch in the main river. They expect it to pick up in a couple of days after the recent rains.

The one with the grey boots is likely the guide! I have one of those too, she is taking me out today!

I saw a couple of posts from Jane on FB before the river rose this last time saying fish were beginning to move up, but no posts while it was up or now that it is falling again. I imagine she's busy fishing now.
The rain event forecast for Wed night isn't too significant, but will be over the whole watershed from Taw. to TB, so the river will see another good rise late next week into the weekend, and fall quickly again due to TB being a few feet low. Those surges should get fish moving. We're headed out to River Ridge this coming weekend. I'm looking forward to it. I think it'll be good conditions for as early in the run as we'll be.

Now that's a Sabine white bass there! Never caught them bigger anywhere else.
Wow! Those are some mighty big whites!
