Looking to take the boat to texoma for the first time to try and catch some stripers. Any advice on areas to try and what y’all are catching them on would be greatly appreciated.

The fishing report that came out yesterday said that Stripers are excellent on large white swimbaits and crankbaits in the river channels and tributaries. It pretty much says the same for white bass also. I am very curious also for much more detail as I also plan to make the trip up there next week! I have heard that people watch for the birds diving down to grab shad and then speed over to them and throw swim baits in their direction. i don't know where though. I will try to find out more and post on here.

Here is a video that I did last week about trolling A rigs. If you look at the graph you can see how we were trolling along the edge of the channel. You can find the fish on the graph and then catch them however you want to. Birds will be anywhere. If you see birds circling anywhere they are normally above fish. When the fish start feeding and pushing the bait up to the surface, the birds start diving to catch them.

Let us know how it goes Sunday, I'm planning on going out on Thursday
I appreciate it I’ll text you while we’re out there. Thinking about launching at juniper point, is this a good ramp and area to start?

I'm glad you posted this. I'm heading up in the morning and just realized my license isn't current. That December expiration date screws with you.

I will be launching at little mineral and have not launched at Juniper point but fishing should be good anywhere!
Got the stamp already but thank for the reminder to check the date. And Juniper is just the closest one I seen from us heading up from the Fort Worth area.
Well it was windy and slow out there yesterday, we ended up boating 6 unders and threw back another 6 or 7 small ones. Caught all fish by trolling the points and creek channels but saw a bunch of fish in 30’-40’ of water that we couldn’t get to bite on jigging spoons. Next time we will have to catch some live bait and try that out.

We trolled as well. Ed caught 18 and I spent an hour looking for shad and gave up and started trolling. I ended up with 4 and lost a big fish at the boat. I didn’t try to slab but I will next time...
